I LOVE A SCOTCH THAT'S OLD ENOUGH TO ORDER IT'S OWN SCOTCH

For a good whiskey jump in a taxi and land at Seven Grand, where they've be infusing drinks since April 2007. This whiskey emporium even hosts Japanese Whiskey. I always ask for the brand on the top shelf so I can watch the bartender use the Super-duper-cool Library ladder to gain access to the bottle of expensive inebriation! Oh, Scotch scotch scotch scotch SCOTCH! It smells like a forest, but it will give you the most sophisticated buzz! It's really a different high. An-all-conquering, I can get free drinks at any bar in downtown high! It's the liquid courage that puts a bounce in your step...not a bouncer in your face. Although, my drink of ‘See No Tomorrow’ is Tequila, a Scotch sets me straight and puts me in bed at the right hour with my memory intact the next day!

What do I love about Seven Grand? The warm hunting lounge cabin fever, I miss living in LA. The perfect excuses to flirt with guys...the pool table (learn to hustle pool ladies, the men will fall to their knees). The bands that play on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Go to the Mattresses), and the traditional drinks that set me straight. I am talking Old Fashions. My friend Gerardo hit me with this quote the other day, "A real gentleman knows the difference between an Old Fashion, a Manhattan, and a Bronx!" Any takers on that? I am taking applications. I said it once and I will say it again, I love a man that knows his liquor; it's sexy, it's Bond, James Bond!
Seven Grand is the place to take your boss, your parents, or your new guy (it will impress him). Nothings hotter than a girl that knows her scotch/whiskey! Get to Seven Grand, order an Old Fashion and keep it classy!

Sipping on a Scotch,

Carlyn

  1. I love that place. It reminds me of being in Ernest Hemmingways' den. Plus you can order his favorite drink there, "Death in the Afternoon"=equal parts champagne and absynthe. I thought I had invented it and called it "Champabsynthe" until I researched it online and found out thet my man Ernie was about sixty years ahead of me. Also at seven grand I love to get the Sazerac Sling and the Mint Julep served in the silver tumbler.

  2. Tim, Sixty years ahead of you or not, that's an awesome little story there! The Mint Julep is pretty darn wonderful... then the fact that they serve it that Silver makes you feel like you're a patron at Medival Times!

  3. Here's a funny quote a friend of ours told me the night we met : "Take a chick to Bottega Louie for dinner and follow that up with some drinks at Seven Grand....That will get ya laid."

-My response, "Want to go to BL and 7G next week?"
